At Diaspora Salon, our goal is to provide professional, innovative, and quality hair care services for all clients. Before requesting or making an appointment, please take the time to thoroughly read our policies, as no exceptions apply. CANCELLATION & TARDINESS POLICY

Your appointment is scheduled with accuracy and is reserved especially for you. If you need to cancel, reschedule or change services within a scheduled appointment, we respectfully request you notify us no sooner than 2 days before your appointment time. We understand that schedules change, but to make sure we have appointments available for other guests we enforce this policy.

If we receive no cancellation from you 48 hours in advance of your appointment we charge 100% of the cost of your scheduled services. Additionally, for us to accommodate each patron in a timely manner, we respectfully ask that you be on time for your appointment. if you are running a few minutes behind, we can hold your appointment for up to 15 minutes provided we hear from you. After 20 minutes we reserve the right to cancel your appointment. We understand that medical emergencies do happen and we show sensitivity in situations such a that.

Appointment reminders are sent via email and/or text message three days in advance of all appointments. Should you need to confirm, cancel, reschedule, or make a change to your existing appointment, you may email, call or leave us a voicemail at (410) 366-8700. We are not responsible for messages sent to the wrong number or email address.
 

SERVICE GUARANTEE

We pride ourselves on providing all clients with fantastic service and quality customer care. We are professional, cultured and experienced, and will provide you with the best hair care services possible.

However, if you are not satisfied with the results of your salon service, please contact us the salon within 24 hours of your appointment. We will ask you to return to the salon for your hair to be visually assessed, and are able to provide a one time complimentary adjustment within 5 business days of your appointment date. We do not offer refunds on salon services.
 

CURLY HAIR STYLING & CUTTING

One of our specializations at Diaspora Salon is Curl Discovery™ and the shaping of your curls in the form of a Deva Cut™ or the Signature Curly Cut™. Contrary to the belief, we do not use chemicals to make your curls. Instead, we use our exclusive methods to help define and capture your true, natural curl pattern. Therefore, your natural texture must be present to achieve the best results for any of the Curly Hair Services we offer (Curl Discovery™, Wash & Gos, Deva Cut™, Signature Curly Cut). Hair that has been altered by a relaxer/ texturizer, Keratin, heat (flat ironing/ straightening/ Dominican blow-out), or extreme coloring will yield less than desirable results.

If your hair is 100% in its natural state, and you'd like to schedule an appointment, there is a special way to prepare your hair for our Curly Hair Services, specifically the Signature Curly Cut™ and the Deva Cut™. These are 2- step services, and the 1st step is completed at home. The information on how to prepare your hair at home can be found here. Failure to complete Step 1 at home and properly prepare your hair prior to your visit will result in your appointment being cancelled upon arrival. Please note: the Deva Cut™ is for those who wear their hair in it's naturally wavy, curly, or coily defined state. The Signature Curly Cut™ is for those that like to alternate between the curly look and other loose hairstyles such as twist- outs, braid- outs and rod sets. Neither the Signature Curly Cut™ nor the Deva Cut™ is compatible with straighted hair. For a traditional, non- curly hair cut, one of our stylists would blow dry, straighten, then cut your hair.
 

GUESTS & CHILDREN

Due to limited space and for the comfort of all clients, guests, including children not being serviced are not permitted in the salon.

We offer salon services for those 12 years old and over, provided they are salon ready, meaning they can sit still and handle a professional salon service. If a child become disruptive during their appointment, the service will immediately stop and the parent will still be responsible for the full cost of the appointment. For children under 16, we require one parent or guardian to stay during the duration of the appointment, but no additional children or guests. Our waiting area is very small and reserved for clients arriving early waiting to be serviced, and for staff breaks.

FOOD

Outside food is strictly prohibited in the salon. Additionally, we ask that clients not discard any outside food within the salon.
 

DEPOSITS

For certain services and appointments, we reserve the right to require a non- refundable deposit to book an appointment. Deposits are non- refundable.
 

PAYMENT

We accept cash, Diaspora Salon gift cards/ certificates, and credit and debit cards. We do not accept checks.
